Abstract

Kakaipadiniyam is the first monograph on yapilakanam in Tamil was written by a female writer kakaipadiniyar. It is to better to pluck pears than to learn and sing poetry. The statement implies that the application is hard. Such a difficult time kakaipadiniyam was penned by kakaipadiniyar who is the first woman grammarian. Based on kakaipadiniyam, Sangyappu, Sirukakapadiniyam, yapparunkalam, yapparangalakkarikai texts appeared. The purpose of this article is to throw limelight on the female grammarian Kakaipadiniyar and her work.
